Furness Building Society’ Millom branch will close from Monday for a major revamp.
The Market Square branch is due to reopen in early December after it has been remodelled. The society said its aim was to create an inviting, relaxing space for members.
The branch will be open-plan, organised into distinct zones for specific services and the traditional counter replaced with a meet-and-greet desk.
The society said: “The new look captures a strategic shift from transactions to interactions within a more engaging environment, enabling the branch team to spend quality time alongside members to better understand and support their needs.
“The sizeable investment forms part of an extensive branch-wide transformation programme, which is underway across the Furness Building Society estate.”
Debbie Dobson, Millom branch manager at Furness Building Society, said: “We’re really excited to be bringing our new look and feel to Millom town centre.
“We’re proud to be investing in the town and creating a space that’s welcoming, comfortable and designed around the needs of our members.
“While we’re closed, we’ll still be able to help our members from our other branches and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we work hard to enhance the Millom branch experience.”
