Whitehaven-born Harvie Hill is enjoying meeting and training with his Cumbrian team-mates ahead of Sunday’s representative game with Nigeria.
Prop Hill, 22, has just said his goodbyes to Wigan after signing a four-year deal with Hull FC, and has been speaking to Barrow Raiders.
The Raiders are staging the game at the Northern Competitions Stadium on Sunday, kick-off 2pm.
Cumbria have only had the opportunity for a handful of training sessions under coach Paul Crarey, but Hill has enjoyed mixing with his fellow Cumbrians.
Hill said: “It was really good to meet the boys, some of them I’d never met before, and it was a really good session.
“It’s been really good, obviously, it’s been a different set of lads, but everyone had a dig and it was a good session.
“I think it helps that Cresta is such a good coach. He has been out there and really drilled some of the stuff into us, so that’s good.
“This one was a really good session, so I think if we have more like that, then we’ll be ready to go.
“I kind of knew a bit ago about this game against Nigeria, so I’ve been waiting for it.”
Before signing for Hull, Hill made 48 first-team appearances for Wigan, having progressed through the Warriors’ youth ranks. He has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of 2029.
