Millom’s only supermarket is set to close for a revamp.

The superstore, on Lancashire Road, will shut for nearly two weeks from Sunday November 9 until Thursday November 20.

A spokesperson said: “Our Millom Superstore will be closed between Sunday 9th November until Thursday 20th November for refurbishment.

“We apologise for the inconvenience, and look forward to welcoming customers back after the works are completed.”

Once complete, the refurbishment will improve the store and its facilities.

Tesco added that it has to close the store to make sure the improvement work can be carried out safely.

It comes after the store partially closed earlier this year in September, to allow for refit work to begin.

Part of the shop was left open to provide essential products, while the rest of the store was boarded off for work to be carried out.

The store is the only supermarket in the town – with the closest stores outside of the town being Ulverston’s Tesco Express, around 17.5 miles away and Barrow’s Tesco Extra, 22 miles away.
