Barrow rescued a point in a below-par performance at home to Grimsby Town.
They had trailed 2-0 inside the first 13 minutes but fought back to earn a 2-2 draw – largely thanks to Grimsby keeper Christy Pym.
Barrow’s first goal should have been prevented but Pym couldn’t keep out Rakeem Harper’s first goal for the club two minutes before half time.
The equaliser on 74 minutes was even more down to Pym as he allowed Charlie McCann’s shot to squeeze through his hands.
Grimsby had started really well and skipper Danny Rose gave them the lead after seven minutes when he headed home after getting a second chance following a block.
Kieran Green made it 2-0 six minutes later with a clever chip over Wyll Stanway.
The Barrow keeper then did well to keep out a powerful shot from Charles Vernam.
If that had gone in it might have been all over but crucially Harper pulled one back just before half-time.
At the start of the second half Pym produced a fine save to keep out Harper’s header while at the other end Rose was just wide with a header from Green’s cross as the goal yawned invitingly.
After McCann’s equaliser the home side could have won it but Josh Gordon fired wide from a good position.
