A Cumbrian brewery has announced a three-year partnership with a Lake District charity.

Crooked River Brewing Co has joined forces with The Lake District Calvert Trust, a charity dedicated to allowing people with disabilities experience the benefits of accessible outdoor adventure.

Lake District Calvert Trust is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year.

As part of the collaboration, Crooked River’s Cask Pale will become the Calvert Trust Pale, with 10p from every pint sold donated directly to the charity.

Fundraising officer Cole Kelly of the Lake District Calvert Trust, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be partnering with Crooked River on this initiative.

“The Lake District Calvert Trust exists to make outdoor adventure accessible to everyone, even those living with the most profound disabilities, and this partnership will not only help raise vital funds but also spread awareness of our work.

“It’s been such a pleasure to watch Crooked River expand over the past year, and it’s fantastic to see them now in a position to give back to the community in this way.

“By choosing a pint of Calvert Trust Pale, people will be directly supporting our mission — it’s a simple but powerful way for the community to get involved. We’re excited to see this collaboration grow and to celebrate the positive impact it will have.”

Phil Scholey, of Crooked River Brewing Co, added: “We’re proud to dedicate our Cask Pale to supporting the Calvert Trust.

“It’s a beer we’re passionate about — light, refreshing, and full of flavour — and now it also carries a purpose beyond the pint.

“Our brand has always been rooted in what life is like here in Cumbria and its close relationship with the outdoors, so this feels like a perfect fit.

“By linking the beer to the Calvert Trust, we hope to encourage more pubs and customers to choose it, knowing that every pint contributes to an important local cause.”

In addition to being available at the Crooked River Tap in Keswick, beer lovers can look out for Calvert Trust Pale in the coming weeks at The Pocket and The Wainwright in Keswick, The Horse and Farrier in Threlkeld and The Bitter End in Cockermouth.

Crooked River is also inviting other pubs across the region to get in touch if they would like to stock the beer and join the initiative.
