Directors and team members from Lake District Estates have raised almost £5,000 for Eden Valley Hospice in memory of their colleague Steven McAvoy.
Peter Hensman, president of Lake District Estates, presented the cheque for £4,875 to representatives from Eden Valley Hospice.
Steven’s wife, Michelle, was also present.
The donation represents the culmination of the team’s continued fundraising efforts, inspired by the care and compassion Steven and his family received from the hospice.
The team’s fundraising journey began earlier this year with the Lakes Ultra Challenge Series 10k Ambleside Loop, completed in Steven’s memory by colleagues, friends, and family.
Since then, additional activities have helped boost the total, including a Cross Bay Walk on July 19.
Rachel Bell, head of marketing and business development at Lake District Estates, said: “Eden Valley hospice plays such an important role in our community, and we’re proud to support their work in Steven’s honour.
“This fundraising journey has been incredibly personal for so many of us. Every event and donation represents the love and respect we all have for Steven and his family. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who supported us along the way.”
Megan Dart, events fundraiser at Eden Valley Hospice, added: “We’re so thankful to everyone at Lake District Estates for their support and generosity.
“Fundraising in memory of Steven is a truly special way to celebrate his life and the positive impact he had on those around him. Every penny raised helps us continue providing the specialist care and compassion that Steven and his family experienced.”
Lake District Estates is a family-owned business operating holiday parks in Cumbria, a marina in Lancashire, and a range of heritage and retail attractions including the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, Ullswater ‘Steamers’, and Peter Rabbit and Friends and The Veg Patch shops.
