Kevin Sinfield will be in Cumbria next month as part of his 7 in 7 Challenge.

Inspired by his former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow, who died aged 41 last year, Kevin is embarking on seven ultra marathons in seven days – including one in West Cumbria.

He is raising awareness about Motor Neurone Disease – and his target is £777,777, which will be split between the MND Association, the Leeds Hospital Charity, Irish MND Association, the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, MND Scotland and The Darby Rimmer Foundation.

He will be leaving from Workington’s Fibrus Community Stadium on Friday December 5 and finishing at Whitehaven’s Recreation Ground in his fifth ultra marathon of the challenge.

It is his sixth challenge and it has raised over £10 million for MND charities since he began.

Sinfield said, “We have committed to doing seven annual challenges, as most people know the number seven is special to us because it is the number Rob wore.

“There are so many special memories from the previous challenges when people are so grateful that we have come to their village, town or city.

“With this penultimate challenge we wanted to continue that theme. The logistics around getting to each region in the timescale is part of our challenge but it is worth it when we receive such a warm welcome.”
