An outdoor ice rink has opened in the Lake District.
The rink, at Another Place, The Lake at Ullswater, was officially opened with an event featuring a special performance by British figure skater and ice dancer Suzi Murray.
Returning after the sell-out success of its debut last winter, the 200sq m real ice rink will be open until January 10.
Set right on the shores of Ullswater and framed by the surrounding fells, last year’s rink drew more than 8,500 skaters.
Jamie Adamson, Another Place, The Lake’s general manager welcomed guests onto the ice at the official opening, which featured a performance from international British medallist and figure skater Suzi.
For 2025 the experience returns bigger and better, with a new glass-panelled, clear-roofed marquee offering shelter from the weather and even better views of the lake – created in partnership with Land Rover Discovery.
Jamie said: “We’re really pleased to host another festive season, as our lakeshore ice rink returns.
“There’s something truly magical about skating here – gliding across the ice with Ullswater beside you and the fells dusted with snow.
“We can’t wait to share these unforgettable moments with friends and families this winter.”
