Junction 38 of the M6 northbound will be closed overnight for emergency resurfacing.

National Highways said the work would be carried out around the Tebay junction from 8pm today, Wednesday December 3 until 5am tomorrow, Thursday December 4.

Drivers will need to leave the M6 using the Junction 38 exit slip road and rejoin via the entry slip road.

National Highways said: “This short diversion will allow us to complete work safely while keeping drivers on the move.

“We expect minimal impact on journeys, and our team is working overnight to reduce disruption. Please plan ahead and allow a little extra time if you’re travelling in the area.

“These essential repairs will help keep the M6 in good condition and safe for everyone who uses the route.”
