Hundreds of people lined the streets as Kevin Sinfield ran through West Cumbria as part of a mammoth fundraising challenge.
He started his fifth of seven ultra marathons in seven days at Workington’s Fibrus Community Stadium yesterday morning and completed it at Whitehaven’s ground last night.
Inspired by his former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow, who died aged 41 last year, Kevin is raising awareness about Motor Neurone Disease.
His target was to raise £777,777 which he hit as he passed through Moresby, near Whitehaven.
The total now stands at over £800,000 and it will be split between the MND Association, the Leeds Hospital Charity, Irish MND Association, the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, MND Scotland and The Darby Rimmer Foundation.
Cumbria’s Marathon Man Gary McKee also ran alongside him yesterday.
It is his sixth challenge and it has raised over £10 million for MND charities since he began.
Photographers Brett Thurlow and Elwyn Evans were there for Cumbria Crack.
