Cumbrian retailer Cranstons has raised over £4,800 for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.
The total of £4,813 was raised from collection tins on tills at the food specialists’ stores, a Christmas hamper raffle, a 50p donation from every Christmas pudding Cranstons sold and a share of profits donation.
Jane Silburn, Cranstons’ business development manager, said: “It’s important to the whole Cranstons team that we give back to the communities we serve.
“We are thrilled to continue supporting Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, this donation is only made possible by the generous support of our dedicated team and loyal customers all of whom I’d like to thank for supporting this vital local charity.”
Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland is one of four charity partners of Cranstons.
Tynedale Hospice at Home, the Great North Air Ambulance and Carlisle Youth Zone will also receive a share of profits cheques this year.
Ashley Macaulay, director of clinical services for hospice at home, said: “We are truly grateful to Cranstons and their wonderful customers for this incredible donation of £4,813.
“To be chosen as one of their supported charities means so much to us. Cranstons’ strong family ethos and deep commitment to the local community genuinely reflect our own mission, and it is always inspiring to see a local business champion local care.
“This total includes an exceptionally generous profit share contribution from Cranstons, alongside funds raised from various initiatives throughout the year. Every one of these activities shows just how much Cranstons and their customers care about supporting local families.
“Around 80% of the funding needed to provide our specialist nursing, emotional and practical support, must be raised locally, so every pudding purchased, every raffle ticket bought, every penny dropped into a collection tin makes a real and meaningful difference.
“This generosity helps us continue to be there for patients and their families when they need us most, and we are sincerely thankful for Cranstons’ ongoing support.”
