Blackbrook are gearing up for their big game with Workington Town on Sunday in the Challenge Cup (ko 2pm).
Their Boardman’s Lane ground in St Helens has a capacity of 1,301 and they are hoping to reach that against Jonty Gorley’s men.
The special interest, and incentive, from their point of view is the winners play St. Helens in the third round and a chance to take on their Super League neighbours.
In the last round they overwhelmed GB Police 52-6 and have been preparing for Town’s visit since then.
Blackbrook play in the North West Men’s League Premier Division and last season finished third behind Orrell St James and local rivals Haresfinch.
They have signed two players in the last few days with hooker Scott Carberry returning to his former club after a spell with Haresfinch and the experienced Alex Smith joining from Halton Farnworth Hornets.
Admission is £6 adults and £2 for concessions and supporters will be able to pay on the gate by cash or card.
The match organisers have requested that it would be helpful to help with congestion for those paying by cash to have the right money.
