Businesses and vehicles targeted in Barrow overnight

Businesses and vehicles have been targeted by vandals overnight in Barrow.

Police said they were investigating four reports of damage in the Dalton Road and Hindpool road areas of Barrow which happened from 10pm yesterday, January 21.

Officers said damage was caused to a number of vehicles and to businesses on Dalton Road, where windows were smashed.

A further incident was reported in the early hours of today, January 22, where a window of a petrol station was smashed on Hindpool Road.

Officers from Barrow’s Neighbourhood Policing Team are investigating the reports and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Inspector Grant Kelso, of the team, said: “The incidents reported to us may be linked and we are actively conducting enquiries to find those responsible.

“Officers will be out conducting high visibility patrols to provide reassurance and a visible policing presence in the areas affected.

“If you have any information about the incidents, or any concerns you wish to raise, please speak to them.

“If you witnessed any of the incidents or have any footage which may assist in our investigation please report it.”

Anyone with any information is asked to report via www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it quoting log number 12 of 22 January or call 101.

Alternatively, report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
