
A Lake District walker was rescued after sustaining a knee injury.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was contacted by Cumbria police on Saturday, February 7, at around 3.35pm.
The walker had taken an Ullswater ‘Steamer’ to Howtown and had been walking around the lake back to Glenridding.
They was in pain and could only walk a few metres before being unable to weight bear on their leg.
Team members travelled across the Lake on Patrick Pete, its rescue RIB to get to the walker.
When they arrived, the walker was treated by the team’s remote rescue medical technician and their leg was splinted and pain relief given.
The casualty was placed onto the stretcher and carried down to the lake shore and loaded onto the RIB where they were taken to Glenridding pier and allowed to travel to hospital for further treatment with their companions.
