Work to improve a section of the A595 has been delayed.

Cumberland Council said that due to ‘technical difficulties’ the essential carriageway resurfacing works from Gateside to Beckside Bridge in the Whicham Valley have been delayed.

The road closure is now set to be in place until 5.00pm on Saturday 7 March – meaning the closure will have been in place for three weeks in total.

Access will be maintained at all times for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists.

Residents with special access requirements, or anyone seeking further information about the work, is encouraged to contact Cumberland Council’s Highways Department on 0300 373 3736 or visit cumberland.gov.uk.

People are asked to quote the reference: A595 Gateside to Beckside Bridge, Whicham Valley
