Repairs to the embankment near a Lake District road will take longer than planned.
Contractors began the slope repair work on the B5289 near Ashness Bridge, Keswick, on February 23 and temporary traffic lights were set up.
The work was needed to stabilise the road and improve long‑term safety of the slope, originally damaged during Storm Desmond.
Phase two was expected to take around 10 days to complete, but Cumberland Council said there had been a delay.
The council said the teams were making good progress on site and the delay is to allow them to complete the repairs safely and to a high standard.
Temporary traffic lights will now remain in place until the end of the day on Friday, March 13.
The programme was adapted in response to feedback from residents and businesses, moving from previously planned night-time road closures to temporary traffic lights, allowing the B5289 to remain open and reducing disruption.
