A 13-year-old has been banned from Kendal town centre for six months – unless with a parent or a guardian.
South Lakes Police said its neighbourhood policing team had been addressing people’s concerns about anti-social behaviour in the town centre.
While officers have looked to deal with youngsters proportionately, it said, a very small number of young people have continued to carry out anti-social behaviour and commit criminal acts.
Yesterday, police secured a six-month anti-social behaviour injunction against the 13-year-old, who cannot be named because they are under 18.
The injunction, which runs until August 18, means the teen:
- Is not to enter the majority of Kendal town centre without a parent or guardian.
- Is not to engage in any behaviour that is likely to cause annoyance or nuisance to members of the public in any public place.
- Is not to go to or enter any premises from which they has been barred by way of notice or written notice.
- Is not to ride or have in their possession an electric or motorised bicycle in a public place except one minor exception which does not relate to South Lakes area.
- Must remain indoors at their home address between 9pm and 5am, unless in the company of a parent or guardian.
South Lakes Police said: “The injunction comes with a power of arrest should police find him breaching these conditions or be provided with evidence that the conditions have been broken.
“Compliance of these conditions will be directly monitored by police.
“Any unrelated criminal offences will be dealt with in addition to any breaches of this injunction.”
