The National Trust invites you to explore nature across Cumbria and the Lake District this Easter.
There’s plenty to see and do as spring starts to bloom in historic gardens and amazing outdoor spaces.
Easter egg hunts are running over Easter weekend and the holidays at Acorn Bank near Penrith, Allan Bank in Grasmere, Sizergh, Wordsworth House & Garden in Cockermouth and Wray near Ambleside.
Follow the bird-themed trail at Acorn Bank or get stuck into Georgian-inspired activities at Allan Bank and Wordsworth House and Garden.
At Wray, you’ll take part in an egg and spoon race and try your hand at pinning the tail on the bunny, and Sizergh’s trail features nature-themed activities along the Holeslack access path.
A pair of bunny ears, a nature-inspired trail sheet and a chocolate egg are included in the price of £3.50.

Notice the sights and sounds of spring on an easy outdoor walk with mountain views at Tarn Hows, Fell Foot and Aira Force.
For more ways to get closer to nature, try the ‘Wonder World: Earth’ family trail at Sizergh, running through the Easter holidays and until November 1.
Spring blooms are starting to appear in gardens across the Lakes and Eden – take a wander through gardens at Acorn Bank, Sizergh, Wordsworth House and Garden to spot colour and signs of the new season.

Exhibitions will bring to life the stories of the people who have lived at Allan Bank, while artist-curated exhibitions at Sizergh explore themes of soil and agriculture.
At Hill Top in Near Sawrey you can immerse yourself in the stories written there, like The Tale of Two Bad Mice, who cause chaos in a doll’s house and The Tale of Jemima Puddle Duck who is tricked by a fox into moving her eggs.
You can also step aboard Steam Yacht Gondola to experience the sight, sounds and smells of Coniston Water from a vintage steam powered boat.

Round off your visit with a bite to eat and a hot drink – visit JOEY’s cafes at Wray, Claife and Tarn Hows, or National Trust cafes at Acorn Bank, Sizergh, Fell Foot or Aira Force.
