A HGV was travelling on the M6 with a missing tyre on its trailer.
Eden police said it was spotted by an eagle-eyed member of the public, who reported it to them.
Officers were able to get ahead of the HGV and stop it before it continued its journey.
Eden Police said: “Driving a vehicle like this possess a real risk to members of the public.
“The driver has been dealt with for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition. Take this as a reminder to please check your tyres, it could save a life.”
