A historic West Cumbrian hall is set to go up for auction – for a guide price of zero.
Flimby Hall, on Wedgwood Road, is an over 250-year-old Grade II* listed building that will go to auction with nil reserve plus fees, meaning it will sell to the highest bidder, regardless of how low the final bid is.
The hall is the subject of a dangerous structure notice and is in need of total restoration which Auction House Cumbria said is why it is being offered for a guide price of zero.

But the auctioneer added that the imposing detached hall offers a tremendous opportunity of special architectural and historical interest and create an individual family home.
The hall sits in its own gardens and has two reception rooms, a kitchen, pantry and front hall as well as six bedrooms, one bathroom and two landings.
A driveway leading to a courtyard with adjoining outbuildings including kennels along with lawned garden to the front and side of the property also forms part of the site.
No internal viewings of the property will take place.
The hall is set to go to auction next Thursday April 9 at midday with Auction House Cumbria.
