A Carlisle charity has been given a £2,000 boost by a regional housebuilder.
Carlisle Key, on Botchergate, works with young people aged 16 to 25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The organisation provides advice and support through its drop-in service and also has two supported accommodation locations in the local area.
It has secured funding from Persimmon Homes Lancashire after applying via the housebuilder’s community champions initiative.
Diana Vlad, chief executive officer at Carlisle Key, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the £2,000 support, which helps us sustain and grow our services for young people facing homelessness.
“This funding contributes towards essential costs such as our drop-in community centre, building upkeep, staff support, and resources for our counselling space.
“It’s been great to receive this support, and we look forward to building a strong partnership together.”
Geoff Brown, construction director at Persimmon Homes Lancashire, added: “We are pleased to support Carlisle Key, an organisation at the heart of Carlisle’s local community who provide invaluable support to local people.
“It was great to visit the organisation recently to talk with members of their team who are clearly incredibly passionate about what they do. I wish them the very best for the future.”
