A driver doing doughnuts on a beach had to be rescued after their vehicle overturned.
Furness Coastguard Rescue Team said they, along with Arnside Coastguard Rescue Team, were called out today, Monday April 6, to the sands at Flookburgh.
The vehicle’s driver had been doing doughnuts in the sand, its wheels had dug in and the vehicle rolled over.
Furness Coastguard Rescue Team said: “The initial call to our rescue co-ordination centre at Holyhead did not say if persons were trapped inside, injured or how many casualties.”
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service and Cumbria police were also in attendance.
Furness Coastguard Rescue Team said one casualty was treated for injuries by the fire service and handed over to the North West Ambulance Service.
Because the vehicle was a pollution risk at a site of Special Scientific Interest, Bay Search and Rescue was called to use its specialist all-terrain vehicles to right the vehicle and tow it back above high water.
