Plans for two new industrial buildings at Cleator Moor’s iSH Enterprise Campus have been given the go-ahead.

The Industrial Solutions Hub Enterprise Campus is an economic regeneration initiative led by Cumberland Council with funding and support from Government through Town Deal and Levelling Up programmes, and other strategic partners including the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Sellafield Ltd.

it is within the Leconfield estate and the development of the site forms part of the wider regeneration programme being delivered across West Cumbria by iSH focused upon delivering economic growth opportunities around robotics, manufacturing and digital.

The two new buildings – Unit 9 and Unit 12 – are being developed as part of the Enterprise Campus and are expected to be available from summer 2027.

Plans were approved by Cumberland Council’s planning committee today, Wednesday April 15.

Leader of Cumberland Council Mark Fryer said: “This is great news for Cleator Moor and the wider Cumberland economy. We want our area to grow and to thrive. Developments of this type support the foundation for future investment.”

Gary McKeating, managing director of iSH, said: “This is an important milestone, and we’re pleased to see the development progressing through to fruition. The iSH Enterprise Campus is a place where industrial innovation, ambition and community regeneration will come together.”
