Carlisle-based Direct Rail Services is offering a small fleet of locomotives for sale.
Four Class 57 locomotives which were rebuilt from original examples of the British Rail Class 47 are on offer as the firm moves to modernise its fleet.
All have now been retired in favour of class 68 diesels and the class 88 bi-mode locomotives.
The company is also offering a range of associated parts and materials for both Class 57 and Class 37 locomotives.
Items which could be used in mark 2 coaches, often used by heritage railways and preserved fleets, are also for sale.
DRS said: “This represents a strong opportunity for operators, maintainers and heritage or specialist organisations to acquire proven rolling stock and spare materials from a leading UK freight and logistics operator.’
The closing date for expressions of interest is May 27.
