Organisers of three festivals planned for Carlisle this weekend have pledged that they will go ahead.
Bitts Park is the venue for a country music festival on Friday, a hot air balloon event on Saturday and a family fun day on Sunday.
They are being organised by Nationwide Events Limited.
The company, which was set up in September last year, confirmed today, Tuesday April 28, that the events were “absolutely” going ahead.
It said it had been “all hands on deck getting everything ready for this weekend”.
Previous attempts by Cumbria Crack to talk to someone at the firm about the event have been unsuccessful – instead we have had an email reply with links to the festival website pages.
This Ain’t Texas, the country music festival, promises tribute acts, line dancing sessions, American barbecue and axe throwing.
The Skyglow event says it will include tribute acts, BMX stunt shows, family friendly entertainment all day, inflatable theme park and a ‘Sky Safari Night Glow’ – four tethered hot air balloons which light up.
We approached the BMX stunt team to confirm their attendance, but did not get a response.
Nationwide Events has successfully applied to Cumberland Council to licence the event.
Previous festivals were branded Balloons and Tunes UK, run by Extreme Events. Both Nationwide Events and Extreme Events have the same officer, David John Rowland.
