
A man suffered a serious head injury following an assault in Carlisle’s Lowther Arcade.
The incident happened on Saturday, May 9, between 11pm and 11.30pm.
Police have made an arrest and are appealing for witnesses.
Officers said the man was punched, which caused him to fall to the ground.
The victim was a white man of an average build, in his 50s, around 6ft 6in tall, with short, grey hair.
He was wearing a long sleeved blue shirt, dark blue trousers, grey glasses and trainers.
The suspect was described as a white man of an average build, around 5ft 10in tall, bald with a brown/grey beard.
He was wearing a short sleeved black shirt, black trousers and black boots.
Police have arrested a 45-year-old man from Carlisle in relation to the incident. He has been released under investigation.
