Families visiting a child development centre in Carlisle are being welcomed by special murals.
Herdy has donated two colourful murals to the Springboard Child Development Centre in Carlisle, on Orton Road, to help brighten up its waiting room.
The murals feature a Herdy alongside some of Carlisle’s best-loved landmarks, including Carlisle Castle, Carlisle Cathedral, The Market Cross and Carlisle Racecourse.
Both murals aim to create a welcoming, cheerful and engaging environment for children and young people attending the centre, helping to brighten visits for families and provide a positive distraction while waiting for appointments.
The Springboard Child Development Centre supports children and young people with complex needs. Its specialist multidisciplinary team assesses and supports children who may require additional help to reach developmental milestones.

Bridget Newton-Carruthers, team lead for the children’s community nursing service at the centre, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the mural Herdy has kindly donated to our centre.
“The bright colours and familiar Carlisle landmarks have created such a cheerful and engaging space for the children and families who visit us.
“We’ve already seen lots of smiles and lovely comments from parents and children, and it has made a real difference to the atmosphere in our waiting area.”

Herdy said they were proud to support spaces that care for children and families across Cumbria.
Co-founder Diane Hannah said: “At Herdy, we’ve always believed in spreading smiles wherever we can, and we’re so pleased to support the wonderful team at Springboard Child Development Centre.
“We hope the mural helps make visits feel a little less daunting for children and provides a fun and friendly distraction for families spending time at the centre.
“It’s been a privilege to create something especially for the children of Carlisle and Cumbria.”
Jake Bryant, commercial sales executive at Carlisle United said: “We’re delighted to support Herdy with the use of the Carlisle United crest as part of this
mural at the NHS Springboard Development Centre.
“It’s a wonderful project that brings together two much-loved Cumbrian names in a setting that plays such an important role locally.
“We’re proud to see the club represented in such a positive and thoughtful way, and we hope this marks the start of a strong relationship between Carlisle United and Herdy.”
This is the third NHS mural donated by Herdy, following previous installations at Westmorland General Hospital and Penrith Urgent Treatment Centre.
All murals donated so far are part of The Herdy Fund, which is dedicated to helping Cumbrian communities.
To date, Herdy has donated over £200,000 through its Herdy Fund, diverting a portion of profits to community causes.
The Herdy Fund is an official charitable fund of the Cumbria Community Foundation.
