A Jellycat toy worth £40 was stolen from a Carlisle city centre gift shop.

Police are investigating the theft from Ashbridge & Brown in Treasury Court, off Fisher Street, on March 30.

Officers have released a CCTV image of a woman they would like to identify as part of their investigation.

The theft took place shortly after 1pm, when the Jellycat teddy was placed into a bag without any attempt to pay.

Police said the woman they want to speak to is around 35 to 45 years old.

Anyone who can help to identify the woman or who has any other information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it quoting incident number 71 of 1st April 2026 or call 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
