Workington Town’s inconsistency cost them again as they went down 32-6 in their Championship game at Dewsbury.
They had been very much in contention in the first half, grabbing the lead and only 10-6 in arrears at the break.
But the Rams scored 22 unanswered points in the second-half to run out clear winners.
It was a disappointing end to a game that had promised much in the first half after Zarrin Galea opened the scoring on 19 minutes, following a clever kick from Jamie Doran, and Jake Carter added the extras.
It could have been ever better for Town but Mason Lewthwaite had a try disallowed for a forward pass.
The game changed in six minutes before half-time when the Rams went over twice, landing one of the conversions.
Town battled well at the start of the second half but it was an uphill struggle against a Dewsbury side which came to life.
George Senior (44), Tom Delaney (60), Monty Lumb (67), for his second, and Jack McShane (78) completed the scoring for a Dewsbury side who are now ninth in the table with Town in 15th, seven points behind.
Town had the misfortune to have another try disallowed, this time by Lucas Castle but again the referee ruled a forward pass.
Joe Summers, who scored the first Dewsbury try was named man of the match.
