Police are investigating after a cat was killed in Carlisle.
Officers said the animal had injuries which may have been consistent with having been attacked by a dog in the Richmond Green area between midnight and 12.30am on Monday, May 25.
Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing Team is carrying out increased patrols in the area and are out and about to provide reassurance to the community.
Any witnesses or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log number 174 of the 25 May.
