Families across West Cumbria can enjoy a fast-paced hour of interactive storytelling as a popular theatre company returns to Workington.
A team from 4Front Theatre will bring Fisherman’s Tail to the town on Saturday, June 20 at 5pm.
Humble fishermen Simon, Andrew, James and John, have got a tale to tell – and it all starts with a fishing competition and a strange man who blows everyone’s efforts out of the water.
With a host of hearty original songs and interactive storytelling, Fisherman’s Tail is a whirlwind adventure exploring the life and miracles of Jesus, as four fishy lads figure out what it means to be Jesus’ first disciples.
The performance is open to everyone, whether you’re a regular churchgoer or have never picked up a Bible in your life.
The event has been organised by Churches Together in Workington and District for families from across the area and will take place at The Bridge Centre on Central Square, the home of Christ Central Workington.
As well as the public show, the group will perform in four local schools, in a visit funded by the Diocese of Carlisle.
Organiser Charlotte Bampton said: “It’s amazing to be able to bring 4Front Theatre back to Workington for a third time.
“Last year they performed to hundreds of people in and around the town over two visits and we received lots of great feedback.
“We’re very grateful to the Diocese of Carlisle for covering the costs of next month’s shows from a designated fund.”
The hour-long show will start at 5pm and be followed by refreshments.
Entry is free with donations welcome.
