A Carlisle school has received £1,000 from housebuilder Persimmon Homes Lancashire.
Pupils and staff Bishop Harvey Goodwin School welcomed the donation from Persimmon representatives during a recent school assembly.
The funding will be used to purchase new outdoor play equipment for pupils to enjoy.
Persimmon, which recently launched its Newby Park development on the edge of Carlisle, has made the donation through its Community Champions initiative.
Persimmon Homes Lancashire’s Community Champions scheme donates £24,000 each year to a range of community organisations and good causes in the areas where it builds.
Kate Holland, headteacher at Bishop Harvey Goodwin School, said: “We were thrilled to be awarded this money at our school.
“We are currently developing our provision for early years and it will really help towards supporting their future and the future of our school.”
Geoff Brown, construction director at Persimmon Homes Lancashire, added: “It was a pleasure to visit the school recently, and present the pupils with the cheque during their assembly.
“They asked some great questions about what we do here at Persimmon, and are clearly enthusiastic about what they can do with this donation.
“We’re proud to be supporting local communities and families across Carlisle, as we look to leave a positive impact in the area. I hope this donation does just that.”
