The Struggle in the Lake District is currently blocked by a HGV.
The road, which runs from Ambleside to the top of Kirkstone Pass, is not passable after the lorry became stuck this afternoon, Monday June 8.
Westmorland & Furness Council said teams were on their way to close the road at the top and bottom and drivers are asked to avoid it.
The council added: “Vehicle recovery is also on its way but it looks likely that the road will be closed for up to three hours, and possibly longer.”
