The University of Cumbria has been ranked number one in the North West and among the top five in the UK for graduate outcomes.

The latest Higher Education Statistics Agency data said the university displayed a strong performance in preparing its students for successful careers.

Results found:

  • 97.5% of graduates in employment or further study
  • 88.4% graduates were in highly skilled roles
  • Outcomes 4.1% above the sector average

Vice Chancellor Professor Julie Mennell DL said: “Being recognised among the top universities in the UK for graduate employability, and number one in the Northwest, reflects our place-based mission and relentless focus on preparing our students for the world of work.

“This is central to our Towards 2030 strategy.

“We will continue to work in partnership with employers and other partners to ensure our graduates develop the skills, experience and adaptability that our region and key sectors need to thrive.”

The recognition further strengthens the University of Cumbria’s growing reputation for employability, demonstrating the impact of its long-term focus on skills, opportunity and regional growth.

The university’s Towards 2030 strategy is focused on delivering career-focused, accessible education aligned to regional and national skills needs.
