A prolific fundraiser has backed a South Cumbrian first responders group.

Stuart Brakewell, of Ulpha, near Broughton-in-Furness, has raised thousands of pounds for several Cumbrian charities and organisations over many years.

Last month, he organised a night of music at Greenodd Village Hall, featuring the Hayley Sisters and raised £780 for Broughton Frist Responders.

The money will go towards training and the purchase of new equipment.

Stuart thanked Tom Watson, of Greenodd Village Hall and Eleanor Gabbert and Rachel Park for their help in running the event.

Anyone living in the general area of Broughton-in-Furness interested in becoming a community first responder can email [email protected]
