[J]ustine Carruthers, the Founder and Managing Director of Traybakes Ltd, is running this year’s London Marathon to raise money for Carlisle Eden Mind.

Traybakes is a Penrith based business that makes a wide range of handmade traybake cakes in small batches using traditional recipes.

Mind is one of the charity partners working on the new Heads Together initiative. The campaign, spearheaded by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, aims to raise awareness, challenge the stigma surrounding mental health issues and provide support.

The money raised for Carlisle Eden Mind by Justine and her team will be used specifically for Suicide Prevention Training.

Other locals running alongside Justine are Caroline Robinson, Jon Lewthwaite, Marc Lewthwaite, Juliet Gray and Tracey Graham.

Justine of Traybakes said: “I’d like to thank those who have already donated, to help get us closer to reaching our target.

“On average one life per week is lost due to suicide in Cumbria and suicide is the leading cause of death in our young people nationally. It is vital that we raise money to provide the training that will enable people to get the support that they need.”

The London Marathon will be taking place on 23rd April.
