police RTC5b[P]OLICE are appealing for information after a 92-year-old man died following a collision in Bacup.

Police were called around 10.35pm on April 20 to the George and Dragon Pub in Rochdale Road following reports of an accident.

A Honda CR-V collided with a parked Ford Fiesta before overturning.

The driver, an 87-year-old man, was uninjured, but a passenger, a 92-year-old man from Bacup, suffered a chest injury.

He was taken to hospital for further treatment but sadly died yesterday (Wednesday, April 26).

Sgt Lee Campbell, of Lancashire Police, said: “We are appealing for information after a 92-year-old man died following a collision in Bacup.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who saw the Honda in the area before the incident, or witnessed the collision.

“If you can assist us with our enquiries, please call 101 quoting log reference 1543 of April 20.”
