[T]he Chief Executive of Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Claire Molloy, is leaving the Trust to take up the post of Chief Executive of Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Claire’s position was approved by the Council of Governors at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust this week and she will be joining Pennine Trust in September but will be remaining in post until then.

Commenting on her new appointment Claire said: “I’m very pleased to have been appointed to Pennine Care but I will be leaving Cumbria with a very heavy heart. It is something I had been contemplating for a combination of reasons and it’s been an extremely difficult decision.

“I have loved working for Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and with the people I’ve met over the last four years and together we have been on a tremendous organisational journey. This has given me a rich personal learning experience and I have taken such a lot from the experience and our achievements. However, I have also missed being close to my family and this new job enables me to move closer to them. And with some of the changes that are developing at a system level, the time seems right.

“But I will always hold a place in my heart for Cumbria and the people who live and work here, and that Cumbrian spirit which is always so strong in our staff which brings huge dedication and commitment for our patients at all times. I do feel that with the progress that we have made, CPFT is in a strong position to continue that improvement journey with the strong leadership community we have and the strong relationships we have built with other leaders across Cumbria. I’m confident that this will continue to make a difference for our staff and patients into the future.”

Chair, Mike Taylor said: “It is now my responsibility as Chair with my Non-Executive Director colleagues to make the necessary arrangements for a replacement who will build on and continue the good work Claire has done in her time with us. We have already started to discuss the options available to us and we hope to make a definitive announcement about the future very soon.

“Claire has provided outstanding leadership to our Trust over the last four years, with values that have resonated with our staff and a drive to do the right thing for our patients by providing more integrated care close to patients in their communities. I’m confident that this will be a lasting legacy that will be taken forward by her successor. It has been a privilege to work alongside her and I wish her the very best for the future.”
