Three arrested after armed robbery in Wigton

Police van back[P]olice are appealing for witnesses following a robbery outside the Co-op on Station Road, Wigton, between 04:00 and 05:00 on Thursday 8th June 2017.

A male delivery driver has been approached by two males with knives, and they have stolen a holdall from the passenger seat of his lorry containing a satnav, maps, and food, valued at approximately £120.

The males have then made off and entered a property nearby. The two males are described as being around 5ft 7″ in height, medium build, wearing dark scarves over their faces. One was wearing a white hoody and the other was wearing a blue hoody.

Police located three males in their 30s inside a nearby property, all three were arrested on suspicion of robbery and are currently in police custody.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information should call 101 and quote log 18 of the 8th June 2017. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
