A man was found collapsed by a Lake District path by passers-by.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said they were called to Grains Gill path south of Stockley Bridge, above Seathwaite in Borrowdale, on Tuesday July 7 at around 3pm.
The man had set off walking before sunrise having left home some two hours earlier and had climbed Great End.
On his descent he began to feel light-headed and weak and was forced to stop.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “Thanks to the walkers who stopped to help and gave the man food and drink.
“Another walker managed to get a phone signal to call 999 and ask for mountain rescue.
“On arrival the team assessed the man before stretchering him down to Seathwaite Farm to await an ambulance for onward transfer to hospital.”
