greeday[O]n Saturday 24th June, the worlds official Green Day tribute band Green Date will be rocking the stage in Club Rock Carlisle, part of English Gate Plaza on Botchergate for the first time ever playing a massive set of Green Day classics from their entire back catalogue.

Formed in early 2004, the formation of Green Date pre-dates the world shaking arrival of the hit album “American Idiot” and the never to be forgotten “Bullet in a Bible” tour. In that time Green Date have grown from strength to strength, performing their own mammoth gigs up to 2 hours in length! Based in Nottinghamshire, Green Date are one of the finest tribute bands in the world, displaying their talents to fans all over the world including the likes of India, Dubai and even Las Vegas Nevada of which 50,000 Green Day fans attended. Now well established in the nations Punk circle the members of Green Date are all gifted musicians in their own right. However the passion and creative edge that comes across in their live shows derives from their collective love of the band they so closely emulate, Green Day!

Ryan Devlin, promoter of Target Rock said: “The last time Green Date were in Carlisle was around 5 years ago when they played the Sands Centre, I was there that night and it was the closest thing you’ll ever experience to Green Day without paying £50 a ticket. When I had the opportunity to bring the band back to Carlisle I jumped at the chance, being a huge Green Day fan myself, and getting to see the next best thing in such an intimate setting will be a very fun night indeed.

“Green Date play all the hits from the entire back catalogue, so if you’ve been a fan of Green Day since day one, or are just getting into them now with their latest albums, there will be something in there for everyone. We are bringing some of the best tribute bands around to Club Rock in 2017 and Green Date are the start of a long run of fantastic rock nights coming to Carlisle this year.

“The guys in Green Date have been doing this for 14 years now, they are one of the best tribute bands in the world and are fully endorsed by Green Day themselves, to bring them to Club Rock is very exciting, and it’s exciting for the local rock community who are in for a real treat come Saturday 24th June.”

Support comes from local Punk scene favorites, No Thrills!

Tickets are still available through Skiddle priced at just £6 in advance. Tickets will also be available on the door on Saturday 24th June, For more information check out the Target Rock Facebook page for all the details!Green Date Carlisle Poster
