[A] request for green-fingered volunteers is being made to assist a Carlisle PCSO in cleaning up a green in Denton Holme.

The green, which is to the side of a footpath between Richardson Street and Ferguson Place, is going to receive a makeover on Saturday 24th June as part of Give a Day to the City 2017.

Local PCSO Peter Murphy will be leading the makeover and is calling for assistance from the public to join him in rejuvenating the area.

PSCO Peter Murphy said: “The green area in Denton Holme is currently a magnet for littering and graffiti. I hope that by spending time cleaning it up and some minor gardening attention that this could be an area that local community can be proud of.

“The desired outcome is to create a garden for community volunteers to maintain the upkeep, which will make the area much more pleasing to the eye.

“To do this I will need the public’s help and I would appreciate anyone that can spare some time on Saturday 24th June. I will be there from 10am until 4pm.”

If you are interested in helping Peter, please contact him calling by police on 101.
