A garden party raised over £5,000 for the Lake District Calvert Trust.
Held at Nunwick Hall in Great Salkeld last month it was part of the charity’s 50th birthday celebrations and raised a total of £5,381.
Helen Archibald, head of income generation at the trust, said: “We were absolutely delighted by the support shown at garden party birthday celebration. It was fantastic to see so many people come along, enjoy themselves and contribute to our worthwhile cause.
Raising £5,381 is an amazing achievement and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered and supported our special event.”
The charity thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
It said: “Thanks to Jo and Myles Thompson who opened their stunning gardens, and to Owen Evans for providing the soundtrack to the afternoon. Special thanks to Abbott Lodge for donating their delicious Jersey cream and Pioneer Foodstore for donating Prosecco.
“The generosity of the local community meant the fundraiser exceeded expectations.”
Funds raised will go directly towards making outdoor activity breaks more accessible for people with disabilities.
