[O]fficers from Cumbria Constabulary responded this evening (2 July, 2017) to a report of a man seen carrying a suspected firearm in Penrith town centre.
Officers attended, including trained firearms officers, and the man was swiftly located in the vicinity of the skatepark off Southend Road.
At the scene, officers located the suspected firearm which was found to be an imitation-only firearm.
He was also found in possession of a lock knife.
The man, aged 20, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm and possession of an offensive weapon.
