[A] MAN will be sentenced next month after he admitted robbing a Workington convenience store.
Adam Littleton, 22, appeared over a video link from custody at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON).
During a short hearing in front of Judge Barbara Forrester, Littleton admitted three charges. These were robbing a shop assistant at By-Wise in Workington’s Vulcan’s Lane, of £160 cash; possession of an offensive weapon – a piece of wood; and assaulting Ben Mitchinson by beating.
All of the crimes were said to have occurred on the morning of May 29 this year.
No details about the offending were outlined in open court.
Judge Forrester adjourned the case for the preparation of background information, including a psychiatric report.
Littleton, of Central Avenue, Egremont, was told he is due to be sentenced at the crown court on August 11. In the meantime he was remanded in custody by the judge.
