Get involved in how your local health care is delivered

Linda Radcliffe, Public Governor

[T]here are exciting times ahead with the planned changes in healthcare. The Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) is looking for individuals to become involved and nominate themselves to become Governors on Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Governors Council.

The Trust is working with partners across two health and care systems, both of which are looking at integrating health and care services and the Governor’s Council has a real opportunity to influence that work.

Linda Radcliffe, Public Governor for Allerdale said “You can help make a difference to health services in your local community. There are six meetings a year but otherwise it is quite flexible depending on your area of interest”.

There are a wide range of specialist interest areas you can get involved in such as children’s & families services, inpatient, community services or finances. You would be a really important part of a Foundation Trust and be able to contribute your views and ideas for the Trust’s future plans and priorities, as well as responsibility for holding the Non-Executive Directors’ (NEDs) to account for the Board performance. Being a Governor is also a great way to engage with your community and learn more about local health services provided in your area. We need your fresh ideas to do this better and make a difference in the future of local healthcare. We are looking for enthusiastic people to nominate themselves as a candidate in the elections. The nomination phase is now open and will close on 17th August.

For more information about this year’s election contact the Trust’s Governor Support Officer on 01228 603761, email [email protected] or visit https://www.cumbriapartnership.nhs.uk/the-trust/governors/how-to-become-a-governor
