[P]OLICE investigating a collision between a car and a cyclist in Ulverston last week have today (31 July) charged a man with a number of offences.
John Burns, 30, of Sycamore Road, Manchester, has been charged with:
- Dangerous driving
- Causing serious injury by dangerous driving
- Robbery
- S39 common assault
- Vehicle interference
- Aggravated TWOC
- Fraud
He is due to appear at South Cumbria (Barrow) court tomorrow (1 August).
The collision involved a black VW Polo and a male cyclist and occurred in the area of the A5087 at the junction of Park Road and Priory Road on 26 July.
The cyclist, a 24-year-old man from the Ulverston area, remains in hospital having suffered life-threatening injuries.
