[A] man has appeared at Carlisle Magistrates court charged with false imprisonment.
Daniel Norman, 27, of Shadygrove, Raffles, Carlisle, is alleged to have assaulted and unlawfully and injuriously imprisoned a female and detained her against her will on Wednesday, August 16.
District Judge Gerald Chalk was informed the allegation took place at an address in Botcherby in a domestic situation.
No-plea was entered.
Judge Chalk remanded Norman in custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on September 18.
