[A]t 1:57pm today, Monday 4 September firefighters were called to rescue a man who had fallen into a river on Curzon Street, Maryport.
A fire engine from Maryport and Workington attended the incident.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival crews found an ‘intoxicated’ male in the water.
“Crews used a nine metre ladder and general purpose line to rescue the casualty.
“They remained at the scene for approximately 25 minutes.”
