[P]olice are investigating a burglary at a terraced house on Trevor Street, Carlisle on 6th September.

Offenders have entered the house through an open window and made a messy search through the premises before stealing cash and silver Disney dollars. The elderly occupant of the house was badly traumatised by the incident.

Anyone with information should email [email protected] quoting log 144 of 6th September or call DC 2457 Burton on 101. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Please remember to lock windows and doors. Many thieves will look for easy opportunities to either reach in or climb into premises. Crime prevention advice is available from the Cumbria Police website.

Attempt burglary

Cumbria police are also investigating an attempt burglary which occurred in the early hours of the 9th September on Moorside Road, Carlisle.

Two unknown male suspects have approached a porch area of the property and attempted to gain access by trying the door handle at approximately 5am. They did not gain access as it appears that they have been disturbed and left the area on foot.

Police would urge the public to make sure windows and doors are kept locked at all times to prevent this type of crime occurring.

Anyone with information should email [email protected] quoting log 94 of 9th September or call 101. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
